Project Overview

Turning a marketplace export into a structured ecommerce catalog.

Zelena Mriya grows conifers, deciduous trees, shrubs, roses, and fruit plants on its own nursery in Kyiv region and ships across Ukraine. The company had years of sales history on Prom.ua and needed its own store. We designed the storefront, built a Medusa backend, connected a fast Next.js frontend and Strapi CMS, integrated Nova Poshta and online payments, and rebuilt the entire catalog exported from Prom.ua into a clean product structure.

The Challenge

  • The catalog came from a Prom.ua export, where the same plant existed as many separate listings - one per size - instead of a single product.
  • Sizes, crown forms, and Latin names were baked into product titles instead of living as structured options a store can filter by.
  • Product names followed no single pattern: different spellings, different word order, duplicated varieties.
  • Titles and descriptions mixed Ukrainian and Russian, sometimes inside the same product card.
  • Marketplace categories did not match how the nursery actually sells: conifers, deciduous trees, ornamental shrubs, roses, fruit and berry plants.
  • The store had to stay fast with a large seasonal catalog and be manageable by the team without developers.

The Solution

  • Analyzed the Prom.ua export and grouped duplicate listings into single products with size variants - Thuja occidentalis Smaragd, for example, now sells from 15-20 cm to 160-300 cm inside one product page.
  • Rewrote product titles into one consistent pattern and moved height and crown form out of names into structured Medusa options.
  • Normalized the whole catalog into Ukrainian and cleaned out mixed Russian text left from the marketplace.
  • Rebuilt the category tree with subcategories that match the nursery's real assortment.
  • Developed a fast Next.js storefront with catalog filters, Strapi CMS for content, Nova Poshta delivery, and online payments.

What We Built

Catalog & Categories

A category tree with subcategories for conifers, deciduous trees, shrubs, roses, fruit and berry plants, and garden supplies.

Products with Variants

One product per plant variety with size variants and their own prices and stock, instead of dozens of duplicate listings.

Prom.ua Import Pipeline

Scripts that deduplicate, normalize, and map the marketplace export into Medusa products, options, and categories.

Filters & Search

Catalog filters by price, availability, plant height, and crown form, plus product search across the whole store.

Cart & Checkout

Custom cart and checkout with Nova Poshta delivery, online card payments, minimum order rules, and order notifications.

Admin & CMS

Medusa admin for catalog, prices, and orders plus Strapi CMS for articles, planting advice, and website content.

Visual Showcase

A clean, seasonal storefront for a working nursery.

The interface puts the plant first: clear categories, size selection on the product page, availability at a glance, and planting advice next to the catalog.
